The vine

The appellation Lalande de Pomerol is part of the Libourne appellation and although very small it is of worldwide renown.  Its wine is unique.  Nothing resembles it.
The Lalande de Pomerol appellation is part of the Libourne one. The Lalande Pomerol  vineyard although of worldwide repute is  minuscule.  A wine in a class of its own.  Thereis nothing to resemble the Lalande Pomerol.

A little history

The Lalande de Pomerol vineyards originated from the XII century when the 'Hospitailers' order of Saint John of Jerusalem started to grow vines. Just few kilometers north of Libourne, it covers 1100 hectars of land.

The Château la Croix de la Chenevelle

This family property whose warehouse is situated at the foot of the Norman church covers 8 hectars of clay-gravel soil, planted for 90% Merlot and 10% cabernet franc. Monique Bedrenne maintains the vines and elaborates her wines in inox tanks for the maturation and oak barrels for the agiing.
